PLANNING AND PREPARATION

  • Choose the type of siding material you want to install (vinyl, wood, fiber cement, etc.).
  • Calculate the amount of siding needed based on the square footage of your home.
  • Obtain necessary permits, if required.

INSPECTION OF EXISTING SIDING

  • Inspect the current siding for damage, such as rot, mold, or insect infestation.
  • Check the underlying sheathing and framing for any issues.

REMOVE OLD SIDING

  • Carefully remove the old siding using appropriate tools (e.g., pry bars, siding removal tools).
  • Take care to avoid damage to the underlying structure.
  • Dispose of the old siding materials.

REPAIR UNDERLYING STRUCTURES

  • Address any issues found beneath the old siding, such as replacing rotted wood or repairing damaged sheathing.
  • Ensure insulation is adequate and in good condition.

INSTALL A WEATHER BARRIER

  • Apply a weather-resistant barrier (such as house wrap) over the sheathing to protect against moisture and air leakage.
  • Ensure proper overlap and sealing of seams.

INSTALL NEW SIDING

  • Start from the bottom and work your way up to ensure proper water drainage.
  • Follow the manufacturer's installation instructions for the specific type of siding you are using.
  • Use a level to ensure each piece is installed straight.

INSTALL TRIM AND ACCESSORIES

  • Install trim around windows and doors, as well as at corners and along the roofline.
  • Ensure all trim is securely fastened and properly aligned.

SEAL EDGES AND JOINTS

  • Use caulk to seal edges around windows, doors, and all seams in the siding.
  • This will help prevent water infiltration and improve energy efficiency.

FINAL INSPECTION

  • Conduct a thorough inspection of the installation to ensure everything is properly installed and secure.
  • Check for any gaps, misalignments, or areas that need additional sealing.

CLEAN-UP AND DISPOSAL

  • Remove all debris and leftover materials from the job site.
  • Clean up the work area to leave the exterior of the home tidy and appealing.

Our window installation process starts with the careful removal of your old windows. We inspect the openings for any damage or rot and make repairs if needed to ensure a solid fit. Your new windows are then set into place, leveled, and secured. We insulate around the frame, seal all gaps for maximum efficiency, and reinstall trim for a clean, finished look.
